Unit 1. Past Tenses

In this part of Unit 1, we have done a review of the past sentences. This second part is divided into three blocks: a small review of the past simple and the present perfect, then a review of the past continuous and, to finish, a lesson about the pronunciation of the Schwa sound.

At the part of the past simple and the present perfect, we have had to see the explanation about the form to compose the verbs and the usage in the sentences. Then, we have had to do the task related to the explanation.

Once this is seen, we have passed to the past continuous. It consisted of a comparative of the two verb tenses, the past simple and the continuous (when can we use it, how can we use it...). After the explanation, we have done the task.

By last, we have seen a video of the pronunciation of the Schwa sound. This sound is one of the most recurrent sounds that we can hear in the English language. We have to know how to pronounce it because is very important to make another phonetics in the right way. Then, we have done the respective task.

We have found this part of the unit very useful because although most of the class knows this content, it's good to refresh it to improve our English skills.

Infographic about Australian School System.

Have you ever traveled to Australia? Us neither, but we wanted to learn more about their educational system, how they work, what hours they have, etc.

To capture all this information, we have made an Infographic. It's made with Procreate, an application for the iPad, with a special pencil, you can draw countless things.

Here is what we do.

First, we chose the topic, we looked for information and we did a brainstorming, after that, we made a sketch and finally to draw!

Here is the link where the infographic is explained in more detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBcKlLoLH8U&feature=youtu.be

P.S. Enclosed  the capture that it was delivered on the correct date.

Also indicate that, in that video, Ainhoa Valero López does not appear,  I was who drew the infographic, and we divided the work that way.

Thank You!

Unit 1. School Systems around the world

In this part of the unit of the Moodle, we have seen different articles and videos about the educational systems in some countries. Specifically about three: the school system in Finland, in England and in the USA.

Finland's education system is regarded as one of the best in the world, and other nations are striving to emulate its structure of well-paid teachers, plenty of recess time, and less emphasis on homework and tests. The school system is raised to create an environment for proper learning.

The education system in the UK is divided into four main parts, primary education, secondary education, further education, and higher education. Children in the UK have to legally attend primary and secondary education which runs from about 5 years old until the student is 16 years old. They also have a reputation for world-class research. Students get the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, critical thinking, and connections to drive forward their careers.

Private schools in the USA are more accessible, but UK state schools are better funded. Class sizes are smaller in the USA, but Pearson Education ranks the UK system as superior overall.

In great terms, these are the most relevant aspects that make famous the educational system in these countries. In our opinion, it's good to know about other realities outside our country and know how it works in other places. We have found the first block so interesting and useful to keep on growing as future teachers, to gain more knowledge and information.
